Solvang

Solvang is a city in Santa Barbara County, California, United States.  The population was 5,245 at the 2010 census, down from 5,332 at the 2000 census. Once just a village, Solvang was incorporated as a city on May 1, 1985.[3] Solvang was founded in 1911. The city is home to a number of bakeries, restaurants, and merchants offering a taste of Denmark in California. The architecture of many of the facades and buildings reflects traditional Danish style.

The Hans Christian Andersen Museum

The Hans Christian Andersen Museum is operated by the Ugly Duckling Foundation, a non profit organization established to foster public understanding and enjoyment of Hans Christian Andersen and his work. The Museum is located upstairs in The Book Loft Building ( 1680 Mission Drive) in Solvang.  Open Daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 PM.

Danish Mill Bakery
The Danish Mill Bakery is one of those "must go to" places if your in Solvang or in the Santa Ynez valley in particular.  Solvang is known for its bakeries, and this is one of the better ones.
